I go for hikes with my mum in the Mount Crawford Forest so often that it would be easier to tell you what days we don’t go! One of the reasons we walk in the pine forests is for the beautiful monarch butterflies. This image is a combination of my imagination and multiple images I've taken over the years.
Growing up, I never liked butterflies because I thought they were too 'girly,' but now I love them for their beauty, how graceful they are as they fly and float in the air, and their gorgeous bright orange colour.
With the purpose of retaining every nuance of the original painting.
