The Creator

2024, 24 x 24", Acrylic on canvas

The Creator is a symbol of creation, healing, and emotional
rebirth. She emerged during a time when I longed for empathy and nurturing —
qualities I chose to embody through her. This piece became both a guardian and
a mirror, offering me peace and clarity through a sense of safety and strength.

Her shifting tones of green and gold
seem to breathe and move as if alive, symbolising the ever-changing nature of
emotion and healing. The figure embodies the tension between longing and
safety, vulnerability and resilience. She is both grounded and ethereal,
reflecting the internal landscapes of recovery after trauma.

The layered textures and subtle
iridescence invite viewers to witness transformation — her gaze and movement
suggesting the human spirit’s continuous evolution through pain, memory, and
hope.

The Phoenix

2025, 24x20", Acrylic on canvas

The Pheonix explores feminine power, resilience, and
self-perception. Painted primarily in warm tones of orange, yellow, and pink,
she radiates energy and quiet strength. Her flowing hair, like fire sweeping
softly across the canvas, symbolises inner power — fierce yet controlled. The
more you look, the more her subtle confidence emerges.

She looks back over her shoulder,
embodying the moment of being underestimated — when others see fragility
instead of force, or fail to recognise invisible disability. Beneath her calm
exterior is a strength born from survival, intelligence, and perseverance.

This piece reflects my experience as a woman living with
hidden disabilities — confronting stereotypes while reclaiming identity and
autonomy. It challenges assumptions of weakness and redefines strength as
empathy, resilience, and depth. Through free expression and bold colour, she
represents transformation and the power of being truly seen.

Emergence

2025, 24x20", Acrylic on canvas

This self-portrait Emergence
represents a pivotal moment in rediscovering who I am after my accident. It’s
an expression of self-growth — new roots forming from within. After the injury,
much of my life changed. I struggled with physical scars, memory loss, and the
loss of identity, no longer recognising the person I saw in the mirror.

Through painting, I began to nurture
myself again — feeding and watering the new seeds I had planted to grow and
flourish. This piece captures that transformation: the process of learning to
love the new me.

It also reflects the freedom and
expressiveness that now define my artistic practice. I had to release
perfectionism and control, just as I did in my physical rehabilitation —
relearning to walk, talk, and eat. This painting embodies my rebirth and acceptance,
representing who I am and how I identify today.
